Everyone is welcome to learn the basic skills and concepts of wheelchair basketball. Our goal is teach and have players grow into their own, pushing them to learn and adapt to their disability!
We are given the opportunity to send new and novice players into competition through the Northern California Recreational League that consists of teams from the Bay Area, Santa Rosa, Reno, Redding, and San Jose.
The sport of wheelchair basketball and the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) have given disabled athletes the power to gain self-confidence and self worth. Through this program, we are able to provide opportunities for our members to grow from recreational into elite levels. This sport has globalized for being known to bringing the disabled community together and creating teams with athletes that have unique backgrounds and stories. Each new member to H.E.A.L. represents hope that life has its challenges, but these individuals can overcome barriers most people would never encounter.
